"Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change."
— Victor Frankenstein
The digital landscape is full of sudden changes, and the world needs IT professionals who can keep up with them. I strive to be one of those professionals.
In this portfolio, you’ll see how we adapt, overcome, and stay resilient in the face of every new challenge thrown our way at Thomas More Geel.
Who am I
My name is Jaron Janssens and I’m currently studying Cloud and Cybersecurity at Thomas More Geel. I have always been fascinated by how technology can be used to protect people, both online and offline. My passion for networking, digital forensics, and cybersecurity drives me to constantly learn new skills and stay ahead of emerging technologies.
I chose Electronics/ICT because I’ve always been inspired by the idea of using technology for good. Growing up, I admired characters like Tony Stark and Q from spy movies. The brilliant minds behind the scenes who made the impossible possible. Their creativity and technical genius motivated me to pursue a field where I could combine problem-solving, innovation, and security.
Outside of my studies, I have a few hobbies that set me apart. One of my biggest passions is Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA). Sword fighting might sound old-fashioned, but it teaches endurance, discipline, and the importance of constant practice, qualities that also help me in my academic and professional life. Plus, who hasn’t dreamed of being a knight at some point?
I also enjoy playing chess, a game that sharpens my strategic thinking and patience, two skills that are just as important in cybersecurity as they are on the chessboard.
In the future, I aim to earn a Master’s degree in Sweden, a country known for its innovation in technology and cybersecurity. I also dream of launching a cybersecurity company with my friends, focusing on raising cyber awareness among parents and families. Ultimately, I hope to build a career in digital forensics, helping to solve cybercrimes and make the (online) world a safer place.
